Bristol half marathon is recognised as one the best road races in the UK and this year it took place on 9th September on a glorious sunny autumn morning. More than 15,000 runners to part and I was one of the lucky competitors.
It is weekend full of activities where Bristol open it doors to runners from all over the world. It includes Reebook 1 mile challenge on the Saturday as well as free entries to more than 60 attractions in the Bristol Area

Bristol Half Marathon |
The Reebok Bristol Half Marathon starts and finish in Bristol¿s historic Harbourside. The scenic, sea-level course will take runners around the old city, past the Harbourside, out and back along the Portway, through the stunning Avon Gorge, and pass twice under Brunel¿s famous Clifton Suspension Bridge. It is a truly beautiful race with stunning views and finish in the city centre is to the applause of thousands spectators.
Despite the views, I finished in a respectable 2 hours but my performance was put into perspective when I meet two Army cadets who had finished the race with 30kg of backpack in under 3 hours, which I thought was the performance of the day.
The race is well marshaled and it was a joy to participate.
I can highly recommend Bristol Half marathon to anybody and suggest that you make it a long weekend to ensure you enjoy everything Bristol has to offer.
